Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Former twice unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami venue on 19 December.
Fighter's Mindset
"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Exchange
Despite these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally known for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul instead criticized former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul win.
"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.
Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.
Financial Success
Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving substantial earnings.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.
"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.
Physical Difference
As the two fighters engaged in the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually happening.
